FAUX LINEN AMAZON DRAPES AND TIPS FOR AN ELEVATED SPACE

Filed in DESIGN & STYLING, SHOPPING — April 19, 2023

Custom drapery is far from affordable for most, but don’t we all love the look? My faux linen Amazon drapes can be completely customized for a fraction of the price AND even better you can order standard sizes (if that fits your space) for even more savings! Get all the details below for these gorgeous curtain panels plus our designer tips for elevating your space and installing drapery.

First, I highly recommend ordering the sample book there are SO MANY color options, and a lot of factors play into selecting the correct tone for the space like lighting, furniture, and accents near by. Get 5 free fabric samples HERE and order the full sample booklet for $3.99 HERE.

My drapes are the Liz faux linen style with pinch pleat header in the color beige white – see them HERE. My first set I opted to not do the memory trained, they hang nicely but I do think the memory trained is very much worth it for a nice crisp pleat that stays together at the bottom.

If spaces allows I always recommend doubling the width for a nice full panel. Typically my window size would suggest 56″ width panels but I double to 100″ width for each side. I like a slight pool of fabric on the floor instead of just grazing so I add a few inches for length.

A measuring guide to find what is standard suggested for your window size can be found HERE. I would double the width if you have wall space on either side for that fuller look.

TIPS FOR HANGING DRAPES

Whenever possible the curtain rod should be brought closest to the ceiling as possible. The width of the drapes should just slightly cover the trim leaving most of the window exposed. This ensures a really elevated look with the windows appearing larger and ceilings taller. My pinch pleat drapes come with clips for hanging. You’ll also need the rod and rings to install.

For 8′ ceilings I recommend 95-96″ length and 108″ length for 9′ ceilings. I don’t mind a slight pool on the floor I actually prefer the look but you can also use no sew hem tape.

If you have a more standard size and don’t want to do custom you can find my drapes on Amazon – beige white pinch pleat in 100×96 without blackout liner HERE, and with blackout liner HERE.

I have matte black hardware in my living room and primary bedroom, and the warm brass in our nursery love both finishes, quality is fantastic!
