I’m excited to finally have my ideas down on paper for this year. I always start with an inspiration board both old school pin board style and a digital moodboard. It gives a clear direction for the vibe I’m after all while keeping me inspired and working toward goals.
Here’s 2022’s moodboard. I am truly honing in on my style and aesthetic. It’s been so fun to create similar designs for clients this last year, and even more-so for 2022 we’ll be refining this style for our design clients, as well as in my own home.
I love textural elements. I’m finding I’m drawn to chunky reclaimed wood… back to my roots. I’ve always had a pull to a rustic design style but I’m polishing it even more. More modern refined rustic – think chunky, heavy woods with furniture and accents, and reclaimed wood beams. All the organic materials, light and airy spaces with a bit of a mood mixed in for warmth. So much warmth. I love a white wall… I’ll never tire of a good airy white room but adding more warmth this year for contrast and texture!

Okay so here’s the big news here… we’re actively looking for a new property. We’ve been looking off and on for over a year and it’s been so challenging to find what we’re looking for in the area we want. Our hope and goal this year is to find our property and…. BUILD or find a major flip. If that happens sooner rather than later this project list will drastically shift. But here’s to loving where we live in the in-between just like I’ve always said. It’s so important to love our space even if it isn’t our forever home or our forever fix. Simple, intentional updates/refreshes can make all the difference in better utilizing a space and making it beautiful for our time here.
