GUEST BATH REVEAL

Filed in DESIGN & STYLING, PROJECTS & DIY — March 28, 2022

I’m so excited to share a look at our finished guest bathroom renovation. This renovation wasn’t a full gut job, but we took a lot of it apart and started fresh, and on a budget! I’ve heard countless times bathrooms are scary to renovate because many fear DIY skills aren’t up to par, too much work, and too expensive to tackle. I’m so excited to share how we gave our guest/boy’s bathroom a major upgrade on a budget!

Here’s the before. A few years ago, I stenciled the tile floor for a quick, temporary makeover. Then, painted the vanity added new lighting and decor. It was a good temporary refresh. I always recommend changing your space to help you love your home now. Don’t wait for when you can afford the full reno, which is exactly what I did a few years ago.

After a small leak I decided it was time to rip out the tile, repair some drywall and start completely fresh in this space. I’m so glad we did this project before baby came and are able to have this space for all three boys to share, along with guests when they visit.

-replace flooring with a slate gray tile & charcoal grout
-add vertical shiplap 3/4 wall with trim
-new vanity, faucet, mirror, & decor

PAINT
Millwork + trim: Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter
Walls: Benjamin Moore White Dove

TILE
Black slate tile & charcoal grout

Using affordable hardware and finishes that have a designer look can elevate a space without breaking the bank. My mirror, faucet, lighting, and hardware are all very affordable options. A beautiful curated look by mixing metals and bringing in unique, personal decor details make all the difference in finishing any space.

*UPDATE- A year later and I’m still happy with this vanity! One thing to note the counter is real marble so use caution. Staining and etching will happen. The body of it has held up to constant splashes from my two boys.

Hey, I’m getting ready to paint shiplap in my bathroom. What paint sheen did you use?
